Abstract
L’implantologia moderna ha radicalmente cambiato i piani di trattamento delle edentulie e oggi viene eseguita in quasi tutte le strutture odontoiatriche anche da operatori non altamente specializzati.
Nonostante i progressi, permangono alcune criticità che incidono su percentuale di successo, risultato estetico e soddisfazione del paziente.
La complessa sfida attuale è quella di coniugare il miglioramento delle performance cliniche implantoprotesiche utilizzando procedure semplici, micro invasive e alla portata di tutti gli operatori con un vantaggio economico e gestionale.
Il relatore, medico chirurgo specialista e dentista generalista, da alcuni anni utilizza gli impianti ibridi in titanio e zirconia e oggi ne analizza gli aspetti clinici e pratici mostrando alcuni casi realizzati nel proprio studio ed esplorando i fattori chimico-fisici e biologici alla base della diversa risposta dei tessuti perimplantari.

How to recover naturally sealed tissues in implantology?
From its very beginnings and still today, oral implantology has been faced with the challenge of maintaining the integrity of peri-implant tissues, particularly those that make up the biological width.
It is well known that the tissues surrounding a natural tooth are different from those surrounding a dental implant. One particularity is the absence of the periodontal ligament between the alveolar bone socket and the implant, absence which interferes with and weakens tissue healing.
Good oral health means preserving all tissues, especially those attached to the tooth and to the implants. These attachments, although different in contact with a tooth or an implant, must nonetheless ensure the same shield function against inflammatory, infectious and occlusal stress.
Thanks to past research and recent publications, clinicians and scientists have gained a better understanding of the biological width and its physiology. New paradigms are starting to make consensus, such as implant bioforms, the choice of pure Titanium and Zirconia biomaterials, the machining accuracy of the implant connections, always with a view to protecting the integrity of the supporting tissues and to achieving a high long-term success rate of the implant treatment plans.
The challenge for both dental practitioners and implant manufacturers is to offer minimally invasive treatments, capable of taking into account all the factors influencing the protection and the stability of this biological width.

Meet us on November 22, 2024 in Timişoara for the 15th edition of the ICTN (Implants Connected To Nature) Congress. Our ambassador, Dr. Simone Marconcini, will address the topic of How to recover naturally sealed tissues in implantology.
Implant dentistry has evolved considerably over the last 50 years. Today, it is well known that, to guarantee the short- and long-term success of an implant-supported prosthetic rehabilitation, mucointegration (integration of the cervical part of the implant within the soft tissue) is as important as osseointegration (direct contact between the implant and the surrounding bone).
Soft tissue is crucial from the outset of the first surgical procedure, since it represents an indispensable barrier to protect the underlying bone and, at the same time, recreate a natural appearance. Thanks to past research and recent publications, clinicians and scientists have gained a better understanding of the role and importance of biological width.
Sealed tissue recovery is fundamental to prevent peri-implantitis, to decrease chronic inflammation and to reduce bacterial infiltration.
In this context, the possibility of using materials capable of recreating a more natural, high-performance seal around the implant prosthetic rehabilitation is increasingly a key issue.
Titanium is still the material most clinicians are familiar with, but zirconia has gained in popularity over the past few years. This lecture will demonstrate that it is possible to combine the advantages of both biomaterials within an innovative and clinical evidence-based tissue level implant.
